On Bear Witness Day we honour Jordan River Anderson and celebrate Jordan's Principle, which ensures that First Nations children have access to the care and services they need when they need them
Bear Witness Day, or Spirit Bear Day, is celebrated every May 10th in honour of Jordan's Principle. Jordan River Anderson, for whom Jordan's Principle was named; Jordan loved bears, and as such, the plush bear donning regalia, known as "Spirit Bear," was made the official mascot of Jordan's Principle.
