Franco-Ontarian Day

The Franco-Ontarian Day, celebrated on September 25, 2024, honors the French-speaking community in Ontario and their significant contributions to the province’s culture and economy. It is a moment to honor their resilience in maintaining and promoting the French language and their unique cultural heritage, even in a predominantly English-speaking region.

With over 622,000 Francophones Ontario hosts the largest French-speaking population outside Quebec. Ontario’s Francophone population is not only of French and Québécois heritage but also includes communities from Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East.
