Foster Caregiver Virtual Open House Sessions

Caregivers of all genders and cultural backgrounds are welcome. You do need strong parenting skills, a love of children and the time to devote to a child’s emotional and physical needs. To become a caregiver, you do not need to be married, have children, or own your own home. You need to be financially secure – Peel CAS covers costs related to the child’s care but caregivers are not paid a salary. You should reside in a non-smoking home with a suitable bedroom for the child and be able to drive the child to appointments as needed. Child and youth thrive best when there is a full-time caregiver in the home.
