Youth Justice

Our goal is to prevent situations that may lead to our youth becoming involved with the Youth Criminal Justice System (YCJS). To do that, we work with community partners to advocate for youth, so they are not targeted because of race, age, identity. We also help youth to understand crime and criminal behaviour and how the YCJS works.

This process includes always having a consistent approach to anti-social behavior, developing good relationships with community partners like the police, school boards and the court. We also want to ensure that caregivers understand and support the ways we can work together to help our youth make good decisions and bring about positive change.

Our Youth Council has an active role in developing the Youth Justice Policies within Peel CAS.
