Clerical

Volunteer Position Description

Goal:

 To assist with clerical tasks at the Peel Children’s Aid Society office.  To support the work of the Administrative and Departmental staff to enhance the service delivery of the department.

 

Description & Expectations:

  •  Preparing mailing packages
  • Organizing files
  • Reviewing documents
  • Photocopying
  • Labeling files
  • Shredding appropriate documents
  • Other duties as required

Supervised By:

Department Supervisor and/or Unit Administrators

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to seek feedback when required
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting in a fast paced office
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • An understanding of anti-oppression practices and willingness to embrace these practices
  • Basic computer skills
  • Dependability and reliability

Time Required:

  • Three to four hours per week
  • Minimum six months to one year commitment

Training Provided:

  • Basic Orientation – mandatory
  • On the job training by staff
