The Volunteer Program is an essential component of Peel Children's Aid. Volunteers assist in every aspect of operations, from driving children and youth to supervising access visits to helping with administrative responsibilities. Volunteers represent the best of community involvement and the recognition that child welfare is a community concern.
Evaluating our Volunteer Program is key to understanding the areas of strength and opportunity. In 2017 we conducted a Volunteer Feedback Survey and the results are in and are overwhelmingly positive!
Some key highlights:
- 93% rated their experience volunteering at Peel CAS as good or excellent
- 94% felt that they were making a positive difference through volunteering with Peel CAS
- 89% suggested that the volunteer experience met their expectations
Says one volunteer, "In my years of working with the agency, I feel like I've contributed to my community. I feel a sense of joy when the kids say 'I like having you as a driver'."
