Peel – On Thursday May 25, 2017 more than 60 youth will be presented with educational bursaries at the Peel CAS and Peel CAF Joint Recognition Dinner. An annual event, this dinner is our opportunity to celebrate the success of our youth and come together with community donors and leaders, staff, foster caregivers and volunteers to celebrate and acknowledge the efforts of all those that contribute to the safety and well-being of children.

Anayah is a social entrepreneur and founder of CHEERS; a community-based peer-mentorship program dedicated to supporting young people in and from the child welfare system by providing life skills ahead of the transition to independence, encouraging the pursuit of higher education and enabling youth in and from care to develop stable social support systems with positive peers and adults through mentorship. Anayah is also one of the first ever Queen’s Young Leaders and a recipient of the Top 100 Canadian Black Woman Award for 2016.
