Peel CAS and CUPE Local 4914 end strike
The 13 week strike between Peel CAS and CUPE Local 4914 came to an end today when both parties agreed to take outstanding items to binding arbitration.
“We are pleased that that the strike has ended,” says Rav Bains, CEO Peel CAS. “We look forward to having our employees return to work on Monday, December 19, a date that was jointly agreed upon by both parties.”
“We want to thank our community, clients and partners for their patience and understanding during the strike. It’s been a long strike and we are grateful that our staff can now get back to the important work they do to supporting children, youth and families in our community,” says Bains.
With the return of employees, Peel CAS will begin the process of resuming full services to the community.
