Performance Indicators

An important step to enhance accountability and commitment to better outcomes for the children, youth and families CAS’s serve is through performance measurement or performance indicators (PI’s).

The goal of performance indicators is to support effective organizational planning, oversight, and to generate increased knowledge aimed at improving services and outcomes for the children, youth and families we serve.

To date, there have been 26 provincial performance indicators approved by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. At this stage, five indicators are being publicly reported. Click on the links below for Peel CAS data in each of these areas.

1. The recurrence of child protection concerns in a family after an investigation

2. The recurrence of child protection concerns in a family after ongoing protection services were provided

 3. The days of care by placement type

 4. The time to permanency

 5. The quality of the caregiver-youth relationship
